April 22, 2021 9:00 am
The Clearview Library District and the district’s Friends & Foundation will host an author talk and series of mystery-related events in the month of April for the 2021 Clearview Reads series.
Fictional heroine and amateur sleuth, Nancy Drew, turned 90 in 2020. To celebrate, this year’s Clearview Reads includes all things mystery:
7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 24, $5 — Talk with Author Anne Hillerman
Author Anne Hillerman will meet with the Clearview Library District community via Zoom to discuss mystery writing and the influence she experienced from Nancy Drew books.
5 – 6 p.m. Saturday, April 24, $Varies — Mystery Dinner Kit
Grab local takeout from Roma’s, G5 Pub and Grill, or Dickey’s BBQ, and play an at-home mystery game. This Mystery Dinner kit includes dinner vouchers, a Nancy Drew-themed mystery game kit, and tickets to the virtual talk with mystery author Anne Hillerman. Dinners are available in servings of two or four to six.
9 – 5 p.m. Thursday, April 22 – 24, $5 — Community Scavenger Hunt
Help Nancy Drew and her friends solve the case of the rightful inheritance through a community scavenger hunt! The hunt kicks off at the Old Railcar in Boardwalk Park, which will lead participants to 10 stops in downtown Windsor that will help you decode secret messages. Solve the final clue at the library for a chance to win prizes.
Tickets can be purchased on the Friends & Foundation website, https://www.cldfriends.org/. Proceeds from the events will help further the library’s mission, providing additional financial support for key initiatives.
Programs at the library during the month of April will center around the mystery theme. Visit clearviewlibrary.org/events for the full calendar of events.
